Road Safety Council Orders Strict Crackdown on Reckless Driving

COLOMBO (Newss1st): The National Council on Road Safety has instructed the Police to strictly enforce the law against those driving recklessly.

Manjula Kularatne, Chairman of the National Council on Road Safety, said that reckless driving is the primary cause behind the majority of road accidents.

Drunk driving and speeding vehicles have also been identified as major factors in many of these incidents.

Within the first 13 days of this year, 83 individuals have lost their lives due to road accidents.
