PM Stresses Gratitude To Nature And Dignity of Labour

COLOMBO (News1st): Extending her wishes for Thai Pongal, Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya said that the ThaiPongal festival, is marked as a pride tradition that expresses gratitude for the dignity of labour and the protection bestowed by nature.

In her Thai Pongal message, the Prime Minister noted that we are all creations of nature and stated that there is no path forward for people by being disobedient to nature or by trying to surpass it. She described returning respect for the blessings we receive from nature as a noble human virtue.

Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya further said that the nation bears the collective responsibility of steering the country towards a “new era of revival" by bringing about a transformation in attitudes through policy and structural reforms.

She further highlighted that the government has accepted this responsibility and embarks with determination on a new year dedicated to the advancement of the nation even amidst various challenges.
