Parliament to Debate Rs. 500 Billion Supplementary Estimate for Disaster Recovery Today

COLOMBO (News 1st); The debate to pass the Supplementary Estimate of Rs. 500 billion to restore normalcy to lives disrupted by recent natural disasters will be held today.

Accordingly, parliament will meet at 9.30 am led by the Speaker.

The debate to pass the supplementary estimate will be held from 10:00 AM to 5:30 PM today, followed by the voting.

The relevant supplementary estimate was presented to Parliament yesterday.

The supplementary estimate was also approved by the Committee on Public Finance, when it convened under the leadership of the chairman of the committee MP Dr. Harsha de Silva.

An adjournment debate on the current situation in the country following the recent disaster was also held yesterday.
