National Hospital Deputy Director Suspended

COLOMBO (News 1st); Dr. Rukshan Bellana, Deputy Director of Sri Lanka’s National Hospital, has been suspended from duty with immediate effect following a preliminary disciplinary inquiry, the Ministry of Health confirmed.

According to the official statement, the suspension was enforced under Public Service Commission regulations after it was revealed that Dr. Bellana had made unauthorized public statements through various media platforms, creating controversial situations and public unrest. 

The ministry noted that such actions were in violation of professional conduct expected from a senior medical officer holding a position of responsibility.
