President to Meet MPs from Flood-Hit Districts

COLOMBO (News 1st); Leader of the House Bimal Ratnayake announced that President Anura Dissanayake will visit Parliament today (27) to lead a special discussion on the prevailing disaster situation caused by severe weather across multiple districts.

According to Ratnayake, the President will summon all Members of Parliament representing affected districts for an urgent meeting.

“This afternoon, the Public Security Minister and other relevant ministers will be deployed to the hardest-hit areas, including Kandy and Nuwara Eliya,” Ratnayake stated.

“The government is making the necessary interventions to address the current crisis.”
