One Dead, Three Injured as Tree Falls on Three-Wheeler in Thalagolla

COLOMBO (News 1st): An accident along the Rambukkana–Mawanella road caused a temporary road closure.

One person has died and three others have been injured after a tree fell onto a three-wheeler in Thalagolla, along the Rambukkana–Mawanella road.

Police said the victim was the 38-year-old driver of the three-wheeler.

The three injured passengers—a 57-year-old man, a 48-year-old woman, and a two-and-a-half-year-old girl—were admitted to the Mawanella Hospital for treatment.

Police added that the road has been temporarily closed at Thalagolla until the fallen tree is removed.

Motorists have been advised to use alternative routes.
