Funeral Rites of Weligama PS Chairman Today

COLOMBO (News 1st);The final rites of the Chairman of the Weligama Pradeshiya Sabha for Lasantha Wickremasekara, will be held today.

The ceremony will take place at the Weligama family burial premises. 

Wickremasekara was shot and killed on the 22nd of this month. 

Investigations into the incident are currently being carried out by four police teams with the help of CCTV footage.

Police suspect that the gunmen are still in the Southern Province.

Based on this suspicion, search operations were conducted in several locations yesterday.
