COLOMBO(News 1st); The Ministry of Health reports that twenty-two people have died from dengue over the past year.
According to the National Dengue Control Unit, more than forty thousand dengue cases have been reported during the same period.
The unit warns that the risk of dengue has increased in 11 districts across the island due to ongoing rainfall.
The public is urged to maintain clean surroundings to help prevent the spread of the disease.
Symptoms include high fever lasting more than three days, severe headache, vomiting, and body pain.
It is crucial to seek immediate medical attention if symptoms like small blood spots under the skin appear.
