Xi Jinping Greets Sri Lanka PM at Global Leaders’ Meeting on Women

COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lanka’s Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya was warmly received by Chinese President Xi Jinping and First Lady Peng Liyuan at the Global Leaders’ Meeting on Women 2025, which commenced in Beijing under the theme “One Shared Future: New & Accelerated Process for Women’s All-round Development.”

The high-level summit, jointly organized by the Government of China and UN Women, brings together global leaders to reaffirm commitments to gender equality and women’s empowerment.

During the visit, the Prime Minister will deliver a keynote address and hold several high-level bilateral meetings, including with President Xi Jinping and the Premier of the State Council (Prime Minister) of the People’s Republic of China, Li Qiang.
