COLOMBO(New 1st); President Anura Kumara Dissanayake emphasized that the current government has ensured the security of investors and investments in the country.

He made these remarks during a meeting at the Presidential Secretariat this morning with a group of American business representatives visiting Sri Lanka.

The President stated that a secure environment has been created for investments, and that the government is formulating new laws within a democratic framework, addressing the irregularities that existed under previous administrations regarding investments.

He added that attracting foreign investments remains a priority objective of the government.

The President further stated that the government will ensure investment security, expand opportunities, and provide the necessary facilities to support this goal.

He emphasized that steps are being taken to introduce an Investment Protection Act.

President Dissanayake also told the American delegation that the government is working to achieve broader objectives, including building national unity by eliminating racism and religious fanaticism, creating an efficient public service, and maintaining transparent diplomatic relations—all aimed at strengthening the country’s investment environment.

These efforts also include overcoming technological barriers through digitalization.
