Train Services Disrupted On Puttalam Line

COLOMBO(News 1st); Train services on the Puttalam line have been disrupted due to a train derailment at the Negombo railway station.

The Railway Department said that train operations on the line have been limited to Negombo as a result.

A train travelling from Negombo to Chilaw derailed this morning.

Repair work is currently underway.

Meanwhile, a wild elephant collided with a train travelling from Kankesanthurai to Colombo Fort.

The Railway Department said the collision occurred between Murukandi and Mankulam.
