Phones, SIMs, Chargers Seized in Boossa Prison Raid

COLOMBO (News 1st); A joint operation conducted by the Police Special Task Force (STF) and the Special Unit of the Boossa High-Security Prison has led to the seizure of a significant cache of contraband, including mobile phones, SIM cards, and chargers, believed to be in possession of high-profile inmates involved in organized crime and drug trafficking.

Authorities recovered:

28 smartphones
30 SIM cards
35 chargers

The raid was carried out within the prison premises, targeting cells occupied by inmates identified as Vithanage Ruwan Chamara, also known as Midigama Ruwan, Gampola Vidanage Samantha Kumara, alias Wela Sudha, and IDH Sudda—all of whom are known to be key figures in Sri Lanka’s underworld and narcotics trade.
