Man Arrested In Kataragama With Locally-Made Firearm

COLOMBO (News 1st); A man has been arrested in Kataragama for the possession of a locally-made firearm compatiable with T56 ammunition.
This was based on information received by the Walana Central Anti-Corruption Strike Unit.
The 45-year-old suspect is a resident of the ValliMathagama Kataragama.
Police said that the suspect is also involved in drug trafficking.
Investigations are underway to determine whether the seized firearm was used for criminal activities.
