President Receives Blessings From Maha Nayake Theros Of Malwathu And Asgiri Chapters

COLOMBO (News 1st);President Anura Kumara Dissanayake met with the Maha Nayake theros of the Malwathu and Asgiri Chapters this afternoon and received their blessings.

The President first visited the Malwatu Maha Viharaya, where he held a brief discussion with the Maha Nayake of the Malwatu Chapter, Most Venerable Thibbatuwawe Sri Sumangala Thero. He then visited the Asgiri Maha Viharaya and met with the Maha Nayake of the Asgiri Chapter, Most Venerable Warakagoda Sri Gnanarathana Thero.

Meanwhile, the state ceremony to present credentials to the newly appointed Anunayake of the Asgiri Chapter of the Siam Sect, Most Venerable Narampanawe Ananda Thero, was held today at the Sri Dalada Maligawa under the patronage of President Dissanayake.

At the ceremony, the President presented the Sannas Patra to Most Venerable Narampanawe Ananda Thero, officially appointing him as the new Anunayake of the Asgiri Chapter of the Siam Sect.
