COLOMBO (News 1st) - President Anura Kumara Dissanayake, speaking during his official visit to Japan, said the fear some people feel when the law is applied equally to all citizens is evident in how they abandon party lines and unite as one.
He shared these remarks while meeting with Sri Lankans in Tokyo today.
He emphasized that having laws is not enough; their proper implementation is crucial.
The President stressed the importance of confronting the damage caused over time and noted that the Anti-Corruption Act is now being enforced fairly, regardless of wealth or status.
The President also said that evidence of certain past crimes has been destroyed.
