COLOMBO (News 1st): A jeep registered with false information has been seized by police officers during a raid in Piliyandala. The operation was carried out by The Central Crimes Investigation Bureau
Initial investigations have revealed that the vehicle was illegally imported and fraudulently registered. Authorities confirmed that efforts are underway to identify and apprehend the suspects connected to the case.
Meanwhile, in a separate incident, Norwood Police seized two jeeps that had been illegally assembled and modified from their original models.
According to Nuwara Eliya District Chief Motor Vehicle Inspector, Jaliya Bandara, the vehicles were presented to him for inspection. Preliminary findings indicate that the jeeps were illegally altered and were intended for sale.
The District Inspector stated that he has been directed to obtain forensic analyst reports to assist with further investigations.
