Rice Stocks Sold Through Sathosa

COLOMBO(News 1st); Steps have been taken to sell the rice stocks purchased by the Paddy Marketing Board through Sathosa.

Chairman of the Paddy Marketing Board, Manjula Pinnalanda, stated that the stocks released in bulk will be processed into rice by Sathosa and then sold.

This Yala season, the Paddy Marketing Board has purchased around 46,000 metric tons of paddy.

The largest amount was purchased from Ampara.

That quantity is about 22,000 metric tons of paddy.
