Teen Suspect Linked To Organized Crime Arrested

COLOMBO (News 1st); Two suspects have been arrested in connection with two separate shooting incidents.

Police reported that one suspect was apprehended in relation to the fatal shooting of a man on Malani Bulathsinhala Mawatha in Boralesgamuwa on the 24th. The suspect, aged 22, is a resident of Mount Lavinia.

The shooting occurred while two young men were returning home after watching a musical show. A 21-year-old from Mount Lavinia was killed in the incident, while a 27-year-old was injured.

Meanwhile, another suspect was arrested in connection with a separate shooting that took place on the 22nd in the Seevalipura area of Borella. The arrest was made near the Ragama Linton Grounds.

The suspect, aged 17, is believed to be closely associated with an organized criminal and drug trafficking network, according to ongoing investigations.
