Deadly Drive-By: Man Shot Dead in Ragama

COLOMBO (News 1st); A fatal shooting incident occurred last night (3) in the Batuwatte area of Ragama, claiming the life of a 45-year-old man. 

The incident took place between 10:10 PM and 10:25 PM along Mihindu Mawatha.

According to police reports, the assailants arrived in a three-wheeler and opened fire before fleeing the scene. Authorities recovered approximately 30 bullet casings from the location, indicating a high-intensity attack.

The victim has been identified as Upul Amarajith, also known by the alias "Podi Upul," a resident of Batuwatte, Ragama. He succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

Ragama Police have launched a full-scale investigation into the shooting, with initial inquiries already underway.
