Five Inspectors and Several SSPs Reassigned in Police Overhaul

COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lanka Police Headquarters has announced a new round of officer transfers, approved by the National Police Commission, affecting both senior and mid-level personnel across various divisions.

According to the official statement, five Police Inspectors have been reassigned:

Chief Inspector K.C.P. de Silva
Chief Inspector E.M.A.I.B. Ekanayake
Inspector S.K. Anurajith
Inspector R.T. Hemachandra
Inspector T.C. Pathum Kumara

In addition, several Senior Superintendents of Police (SSPs) have been reassigned to key leadership roles:

SSP H.W.I.S. Muthumala, formerly Director of the Criminal Investigation Department, has been appointed Director of the Bureau for the Investigation of Abuse of Children & Women.

SSP K.C. Ariyawansa moves from the Gampola Division to serve as Director of the Central Crimes Investigation Bureau.

SSP C. Gunaratna, previously Director of the Police Cadet Division, will now head the Sri Lanka Police Academy while continuing oversight of the cadet division.

SSP B.A.E. Prasanna has been transferred from Mount Lavinia to Kebithigollewa Division.

SSP A.J. Gunasekara shifts from the Bureau for the Investigation of Abuse of Children & Women to Mount Lavinia Division.

SSP B.D. Gunasekara moves from Badulla to Colombo Central Division.

SSP Y.B. Krishantha has been reassigned from Kebithigollewa to the Field Force Headquarters.
