Walana Shooting: No Injuries, Drug Trafficker Suspected as Target

COLOMBO (News 1st); A shooting incident was reported this (2) morning on Gemunu Mawatha in the Walana area of Panadura.

Two unidentified individuals on a motorcycle are said to have opened fire before fleeing the scene. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.

Preliminary investigations suggest that the intended target may have been a known drug trafficker, though this has not yet been officially confirmed.

The Panadura South Police have launched a special investigation into the incident, and efforts are underway to identify and apprehend the suspects.
