Fire Breaks Out at Timber Store in Bokundara, Piliyandala

COLOMBO (News 1st) - A major fire erupted early this morning at a timber store located near the Bokundara Junction in Piliyandala.

According to the Department of Fire of the Dehiwala-Mount Lavinia Municipal Council, multiple firefighting teams have been deployed to bring the blaze under control. 

In addition, a fire engine from the Colombo Municipal Council has also been dispatched to assist with the operation.

Due to the intensity of the fire and ongoing emergency response efforts, the Colombo-bound lane of the Colombo-Horana main road has been temporarily closed at the Bokundara Junction, causing traffic delays in the area.

Emergency services are continuing efforts to fully extinguish the fire and assess the extent of the damage.
