Suspect Caught with Dozens of Fake Police Reports

COLOMBO (News 1st); A man has been arrested for attempting to send forged police reports and legal documents to France, using counterfeit official seals from multiple Sri Lankan police stations and legal professionals.

The arrest was made following an investigation by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID). 

According to police, the suspect had fabricated at least 13 police reports using forged seals from the Officer-in-Charge (OIC) of police stations in Nittambuwa, Negombo, Kottawa, and Kirulapone.

In addition to the fake police reports, the suspect was also found in possession of a large quantity of blank documents bearing counterfeit seals of attorneys-at-law, which he allegedly intended to send overseas.

The suspect was produced before the Colombo Fort Magistrate’s Court and has been remanded until June 4 as investigations continue.
