All Night Mail Trains Cancelled Due to Station Masters' Strike

Colombo (News 1st); The Railway Control Room has announced that all night mail train services scheduled for today have been cancelled.

This disruption is due to an ongoing strike launched by railway station masters across the country. 

As a result of this trade union action, night mail trains were also not operational yesterday.

President of the Railway Station Masters’ Association, Sumedha Somaratne stated that the strike was initiated to demand solutions to several issues related to recruitment and promotion processes within the railway department.
