The Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP), which once dominated national politics, won only 5 seats with 9,341 votes.
Minor parties such as Sarvajana Balaya and the United Peace Alliance each secured 2 seats.
Beyond the capital, the NPP’s dominance extended across the entire Colombo District, which comprises 13 local government bodies.
