Suspect Arrested Over Attack on Dentist at Kegalle Hospital

COLOMBO (News 1st) - A suspect involved in the attack on a dentist at Kegalle Hospital has been arrested.

The 29-year-old suspect, a resident of Kandy, is scheduled to be produced before court today.

In response to the incident, the Government Dental Surgeons' Association said that the token strike launched by dentists at Kegalle General Hospital yesterday evening will continue.

The association condemned the attack and expressed serious concern over the growing threats faced by healthcare workers.

It further stated that hospitals have become unsafe environments for medical staff, and urged the government to take immediate measures to ensure their safety.
