One Million Criminal Fingerprints Digitized, Says Police

COLOMBO (News 1st) - The Police said that the fingerprints of about one million criminals have been digitized.
According to the Police Criminal Record Division (CRD) , the fingerprints of individuals convicted in court have been entered into the digitization system.
The program to digitize criminal fingerprints began in 2013.
The Police Criminal Record Division (CRD) said that many criminals have been brought to justice through this process.
A technological process was also launched to identify criminals through facial recognition.
