COLOMBO (News 1st); The Ministry of Health has reported that 68 tuberculosis (TB) patients in Sri Lanka have been identified as HIV-positive.
This information was revealed by the National STD/AIDS Control Programme, which also noted that 8,787 TB patients were diagnosed in the past year.
The HIV-positive status of these patients was discovered during routine HIV testing.
The Ministry of Health has emphasized the importance of screening all TB patients for HIV to ensure comprehensive care and management.
