Supreme Court Rejects Mahinda's Petition On Security

COLOMBO (News 1st); The Supreme Court today (19) dismissed a fundamental rights petition filed by former President Mahinda Rajapaksa, challenging the reduction of his security detail. 

The petition was heard by a three-judge bench comprising Justices Preethi Padman Surasena, Janak de Silva, and Sampath Abayakoon.

Rajapaksa filed the petition claiming that the reduction of his security without proper assessment violated his fundamental human rights.
