Deshabandu's Last-Ditch Effort Fails: Court Rejects Petition!

COLOMBO (News 1st); The Court of Appeal on Monday (17) rejected the writ petition filed by Deshabandu Tennakoon, who sought an interim order to suspend the Matara Magistrate Court's directive for his arrest.

Tennakoon had requested the court to issue an interim injunction preventing his arrest, following the Matara Magistrate's order.

The petition was filed by Tennakoon, who is currently on compulsory leave, in an attempt to halt the arrest order issued against him.

The Matara Magistrate's court had ordered his arrest in connection with the 2023 shooting incident at a Hotel in Weligama.
