Identification Parade Ordered In A'pura Sexual Assault Case

COLOMBO (News 1st); The Chief Magistrate of Anuradhapura has ordered that the suspect arrested in connection with the sexual assault of a female doctor at the Anuradhapura Teaching Hospital be presented for an identification parade next Monday (17).

The Chief Magistrate has also instructed the police to submit a progress report on the investigation during the next court session. The suspect, who was arrested and remanded under court orders, will remain in custody until March 17 for further questioning.

Despite efforts, the mobile phone belonging to the assaulted doctor, which was allegedly taken by the suspect, has not yet been recovered.

The incident occurred within the residential quarters of the Anuradhapura Teaching Hospital, where the trainee specialist doctor was sexually assaulted.
