COLOMBO (News 1st) - Minister of Foreign Affairs Vijitha Herath in Parliament today announced that Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi will undertake an official visit to Sri Lanka early next month.
Speaking during the Debate of the Expenditure Head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment, and Tourism, Minister Herath emphasized that the current government has successfully strengthened relations with the international community without creating divisions.
The Minister also highlighted measures being taken to address US President Donald Trump's new tax policy.
Additionally, he noted that a delegation from the European Union will visit Sri Lanka next month to assess the GSP concession, with discussions progressing successfully.
Minister Herath further explained the government's approach to addressing the resolution passed by the United Nations Human Rights Commission regarding Sri Lanka.
