GMOA Continues Strike

COLOMBO (News 1st); The strike launched by the Government Medical Officers' Association (GMOA) continues today.

Spokesperson for the GMOA, Dr. Chamil Wijesinghe, stated that the strike will be in effect until 8:00 AM today.

Following this, a final decision on the matter is scheduled to be announced.

A person accused of sexually assaulting a trainee specialist doctor at the Anuradhapura Teaching Hospital in her official quarters was arrested by the police last morning.

Sri Lanka Police stated that steps will be taken to present the suspect to court after questioning.
