COLOMBO (News 1st): Three more suspects have been arrested in connection with the murder of Ganemulle Sanjeewa.
The suspects, aged 19, 22 and 25, were arrested in Asgiriya, Gampaha, and Udugampola.
The suspects were taken into custody under charges of assisting and abetting with the shooting.
According to the police, one of the suspects named Horanakarage Dumindu Lakshan has allegedly handed over the firearm used in the shooting to the shooter.
Other suspects, Damith Anjana Nayanajith and Chamoth Gimhana, face charges related to transporting the shooter and the female suspect on three-wheelers after the shooting.
The three-wheelers used in the incident were also seized by the police.
Accordingly, the the total number of suspects arrested in connection with the murder of Ganemulle Sanjeewa, stands at eight as of now.
The number includes two police constables as well.
Meanwhile, the Tangalle Crimes Division has arrested another suspect in connection with the Middeniya triple homicide.
The suspect, 29, was arrested in Thelambuyaya, Weeraketiya.
With this arrest, the number of suspects detained in connection to the incident has risen to five, including a police constable.
The constable will be in remand custody until the March 5.
The homicide took place on February 18, at the Kadewatta Junction in Middeniya.
