COLOMBO (News 1st): Deputy Minister of Vocational Education, Nalin Hewage, has assured that the upcoming budget will be people-friendly and provide substantial relief to the public.
He emphasized that the government aims to offer significant support to help citizens rebuild their lives and boost various sectors, including business, agriculture, and industry.
Minister Hewage highlighted the positive developments in the tourism sector, noting that approximately 175,000 tourists have visited Sri Lanka recently, indicating a significant revival.
He also mentioned the substantial international aid received, including a major project worth $3.7 billion from China.
The stock market has shown growth, and the Sri Lankan Rupee has strengthened, with the country improving its rankings in several areas, thereby gaining global confidence, detailed the Minister.
The minister expressed optimism that the upcoming budget will bring considerable relief to the people, leading to a better period for Sri Lankans in the coming year.
