Three Sub-Committees Appointed to Address Issues in Transport, Highways, Ports, and Civil Aviation

COLOMBO (News 1st) - Three sub-committees have been appointed to tackle key issues in the transport, highways, ports, and civil aviation sectors, following the first ministerial consultative committee meeting of the 10th Parliament. 

The meeting was chaired by Minister of Transport, Highways, Ports, and Civil Aviation, Bimal Rathnayake.

A committee was appointed for Safety of Transport Professionals, led by MPs Jagath Vithana, Dinindu Saman, and Devananda Suraweera. 

The committee for Strengthening Legal Framework is comprised of MPs Lakmali Hemachandra, Sugath Wasantha de Silva, Thanura Dissanayake, and Sujeewa Dissanayake.

Deputy Ministers Chathuranga Abeysinghe, Ravindra Bandara, and Dhanushka Ranganath have been appointed as members of the committee to generate revenue by providing additional services in the transport industry.
