Rural Development Ministry Targets Poverty Eradication and Economic Stability in Five Years

COLOMBO (News 1st); The Ministry of Rural Development, Social Security, and Community Empowerment says that it aims to create an economy that will not require subsidies or Aswesuma allowances, within five years.

Deputy Minister Wasantha Piyatissa said that this plan has been developed under the program aimed at eradicating rural poverty.

He went on to note that the main objective of the program is to monitor every family until sufficient economic stability is created by developing self-income-generating methods within impoverished families.
