Five Dead in Road Accidents Across Sri Lanka in the Past 24 Hours

COLOMBO (News 1st) - Five people have died in separate accidents across Sri Lanka in the past 24 hours. 

The accidents occurred in Katupotha, Uppuveli, Wattala, Thambalagamuwa, and Boralesgamuwa.

In Thambalagamuwa, a woman died after a car lost control and crashed into a shop on the Ambepussa-Trincomalee road.

Four others in the vehicle were injured in the accident.

A 55-year-old man died in Katupotha when he was struck by a lorry in Rambawewa, Kadahapola.

In Uppuveli, a 70-year-old woman died after being hit by a motorcycle while crossing the road on the Trincomalee-Puttalam main road. 

A person was struck by a bus while crossing the road in Wattala. 

The identity of the deceased has not been revealed yet.

A 24-year-old died in Boralesgamuwa when an army bus collided with the motorcycle he was riding.

Investigations into the incidents are ongoing.
