COLOMBO (News 1st); Deputy Minister of Ports and Civil Aviation, Ruwan Kodituwakku says that a large quantity of uncleared goods has been accumulated at the Colombo Port.

The Deputy Minister added that there were various reasons behind the accumulation of these stocks of goods.

Such accumulation of a large quantity of goods at the port has caused a significant loss of space.

The Deputy Minister went on to note that some of these goods had not been cleared from the port due to unpaid duties, while others could not be released due to a lack of required documentation.

Deputy Minister Kodituwakku said that he had requested a report from Sri Lanka Customs and the Ports Authority regarding these uncleared goods.
