World Bank, MOD Meet On CResMPA project

COLOMBO (News 1st); A delegation of the World Bank’s management headed by the Regional Country Director (Maldives, Nepal and Sri Lanka), David Sislen, met the Deputy Minister of Defence, Major General Aruna Jayasekara (Retd), on Monday (Jan 20) at his office in Colombo.

The primary focus of the meeting was to discuss strategies to address challenges and resolve issues affecting the Climate Resilience Multiphase Programmatic Approach (CResMPA) project in Sri Lanka, with a particular emphasis on addressing longstanding project management concerns.

The delegation presented a general overview of the challenges and obstacles encountered during the implementation of the CResMPA project. 

Moreover, they proposed a series of potential measures that the government could consider to address these challenges and ensure the successful implementation of the project.

This meeting marks a significant step toward expediting the implementation of the CResMPA project, thereby contributing to the nation's efforts to address climate change challenges and build a more resilient future.
