Schoolgirl Kidnapped in Gampola

COLOMBO (News 1st) - A schoolgirl from the Daulagala, Gampola has reportedly been kidnapped.

Police said three investigation teams are currently working to locate both the girl and the suspect.

According to Police reports, the girl was abducted while she was on her way to school yesterday.

The incident was captured on CCTV cameras in the area.

Police revealed that the suspect is a relative of the girl's family.

A van, believed to have been used in the abduction, was found abandoned in Polonnaruwa, and Police were able to trace it.

The driver of the van has been arrested in Gampola.

However, as of now, neither the girl nor the suspect has been located.
