Women Arrested In Pannipitiya With Kerala Cannabis In Possession; Heroin Trafficker Also Caught In Horana

COLOMBO (News 1st): A woman has been arrested in Pannipitiya with a stock of Kerala Cannabis valued at over Rs. 8 million.

The Police Special Task Force (STF) said that the 47-year-old suspect is a large-scale drug trafficker involved in the Kerala Cannabis trade.

Approximately 66 kilograms of Kerala Cannabis were found in her possession, along with Rs. 500,000 in cash.

Meanwhile, another individual, an associate of a notorious organized criminal and large-scale drug trafficker known as "Atto Dharma," who is currently hiding in Dubai, has been arrested in the Moragahahena, Horana with Heroin in his possession,

According to the Police STF, the suspect was in possession of 840 grams of heroin, three digital scales, two mobile phones, and six fake number plates.

The suspect has been handed over to the Police Narcotics Bureau for further investigations.
