No Firearm Requests from New MPs - Parliament General Secretary

The Parliament has confirmed that no new MPs have requested firearms as of now. 

In a statement, Parliament General Secretary Kushani Rohanadheera clarified that if any member were to request firearms, steps would be taken to provide the necessary recommendations.

Meanwhile, she also revealed that around 95 MPs have requested official residences.

She said that the allocation of these residences will be completed within this week. 

As of now, 45 official residences have been renovated and are ready for use. Renovation work on the remaining residences will be carried out on an expedited basis.
