The Ministry of Health has announced that the measles vaccination program has been extended for an additional two weeks.
According to Athula Liyanapathirana from the Epidemiology Unit, approximately 25,000 people have been vaccinated against measles since the program began on November 9.
Liyanapathirana added that information on vaccination locations can be obtained through the nearest MoH office.
In response to the threat of a potential measles outbreak, the Ministry of Health has established a Rapid Response Unit. The unit will operate daily from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM, providing the public with information on contagious diseases, including measles.
