Four senior police officers have been transferred with effect from the 5th of February, under the approval of the National Police Commission.
Among those who have been transferred are two Senior Deputy Inspector Generals of Police.
Accordingly, Senior DIG Sanjeewa Dharmaratne has been transferred from the post of Senior DIG in-charge of the Sabaragamuwa Province to the post of Senior DIG in-charge of the Western Province.
Senior DIG K.P.M. Gunaratne, who was previously in-charge of the Western Province, has been transferred to the Sabaragamuwa Province.
The police also announced that DIG in-charge of the Kalutara division, N.L. Wijesena has been appointed as the Senior Deputy Inspector General in-charge of the welfare division.
Additionally, the police headquarters say that Deputy Inspector General of Police D.J. Padmini has been appointed in-charge of the Kalutara Division.
