COLOMBO (News 1st) - The National Building Research Organization warns that prevailing weather conditions have caused air quality in several areas to reach slightly unfavorable levels.
Air quality has significantly decreased in Jaffna and Colombo, with index values recorded at 130 and 120, respectively.
Meanwhile, air quality in Nuwara Eliya and Badulla remains at a moderate level.
According to the National Building Research Organization, the ideal Air Quality Index (AQI) value should be below 50.
Media Spokesperson of the Central Environment Authority, Dr. Ajith Gunawardena advises the public to seek medical attention if they experience breathing difficulties.
