COLOMBO (News 1st) - The Ministry of Public Security and Parliamentary Affairs has announced plans to launch an urgent program to address the challenges faced by lower-grade police officers.
Minister of Public Security and Parliamentary Affairs Ananda Wijepala highlighted that officers below the rank of sub-inspector are facing several issues, including excessive duty assignments, postings in remote areas, the absence of a formal promotion process, and an irregular transfer system.
The Minister assured that discussions will be held with senior police officials to establish a structured system aimed at resolving these problems effectively.
Minister Wijepala emphasized his commitment to creating a conducive work environment that upholds the dignity and professionalism of the police force.
