Shooting Incident in Dikwella Leaves One Dead

COLOMBO (News 1st) A shooting this morning in Doramure in Walasgala, Dikwella, has left one person dead.

According to the Police, the victim was travelling on a motorcycle when the incident occurred.

The deceased, a 48-year-old resident of Walasgala, succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

Police said that the weapon used in the attack was a T-56 firearm.

Police suspect that the shooting may be linked to a court case in which the deceased was involved, relating to allegations of extorting money from an individual.

Investigations into the incident are ongoing.
