COLOMBO (News 1st) - Special transport services will be available starting today to facilitate voters who traveled to several areas for the election to return to Colombo.
The National Transport Commission has noted that a large number of people who went to the villages will be returning tomorrow and the day after.
The Transport Commission has advised passengers to plan their transportation arrangements in advance to reduce potential traffic congestion.
Meanwhile, Chairman of the Sri Lanka Transport Board Ramal Siriwardena confirmed that long-distance service buses have been deployed to assist those returning from the villages.
Chairman of the Ceylon Private Bus Owners’ Association Gemunu Wijeratne said that approximately 25 percent of private buses have been put into operation today.
