22 Female Representatives Elected to Parliament

COLOMBO (News 1st): 22 Female Representatives have been elected to Parliament at the recently concluded Parliamentary Election with 19 of them representing the National People's Power.

Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya was elected from the Colombo District, securing 655,289 votes.

Attorney Kaushalya Ariyaratne won with 80,814 votes, and Samanmalee Gunasinghe received 59,657 preferential votes from Colombo.

From Kalutara District, Attorney Nilanthi Kottahachchi received 131,375 votes, and Oshani Umanga received 69,932 votes.

Hemali Sujeewa earned a seat with 66,737 votes, while Stephanie Fernando received 57,637 votes from Gampaha.

Sagarika Athauda secured 59,019 votes from Kegalle, and Nilusha Lakmali received 48,791 votes from Ratnapura.

From the Kandy District, Thushari Jayasinghe secured 58,223 votes.

Anushka Darshani earned her seat with 34,035 votes from Nuwara Eliya.
